Inventory Journal Entry Generation - Purpose

IA110E

The Inventory Journal Entry Generation program (IA110E) creates journal entries for all Inventory Control activity within the current accounting period.  This program may be executed as either a post run or a trial run.  If the input parameter specifies the program execution to be a post run, the journal entries are created on IA110AP (Inventory Journal Entry file) and Master files are updated.  The journal entries are sent to the General Ledger application for posting to the appropriate accounts.  If the input parameter specifies a trial run, the journal entries are generated for reporting purposes only; Master files are not updated, and no entries are sent to General Ledger.

Multiple trial and demand posts are allowed in an accounting period; only one final post run is allowed.

The Inventory Journal Entry Creation Exception report (IA110A) prints an error code and error message for every exception that occurs during processing.
