General Ledger Distribution List/Post - Purpose

The General Ledger Distribution List/Post program (AP170E) creates a report listing the accounting distributions generated from accounts payable business transactions. The report may be requested from the Accounting reports screen as either a post or a list. When a post is requested, the program writes transactions to two files used by the general ledger module to post the amounts to the general ledger accounts. When requested as a list, the program only lists the transactions that could be posted, but no updates are done.
The post process puts both statistical and financial data on one record. The General Ledger module separates these before actually posting from the intermediate files.
