Considerations

To use the container management features, Reference File category N18 must be set up.  This category allows you to define the decodes for the three owner/holder type flags.  If this category is not set up, you can still specify external container codes and owners for containers,  However, you will not be able to use many of the container management features, such as inventory adjustments and tracking, since these features require the use of the owner/holder type flag.

The external container code defined for containers is used only in the Design Engineering and Inventory Control modules.  On screens and reports for other modules, specifically Just-in-Time and CONBON, only the two-character container code is used.
