Bills of Material

 

You must define a bill of material for each item you manufacture.  The bill of material specifies what component parts are required to produce the item.  Within MAC-PAC each level of the bill of material is defined separately.  For example, consider the product structure shown below.

Two-level Product Structure

 

This two-level structure is composed of two single-level product structures:  one for part A and one for part B, as shown below.

Within MAC-PAC, each of these structures is defined separately.  To assemble a list of all material needed to make part A, MAC-PAC combines the two product structures.  Inquiries allow you to see a single level of the product structure or a summary of all levels.
