Cycles and Suballocations

Allocation cycles and suballocations are used to group allocation steps.  Allocation cycles are used to group a set of allocations that must be processed during the same allocation run.  The Allocation Specification File Mass Maintenance Report lists the results of all mass maintenance requests.  Grouping allocations into a cycle ensures that all allocations for the cycle will be executed, in sequence, when the cycle is selected for processing.  Allocation cycles can also be used to segregate allocations in a set sequence, for example, a step down allocation process where one set of allocations is based on the results of an earlier set of allocations.

Suballocations are used to group allocation steps that require the same value for one or all of the accumulation totals.  Suballocations allow the user to accumulate common totals once and use them for a number of allocation distributions.  Variable totals required for each suballocation can be reset through additional accumulation specifications without affecting common total amounts.
