Allocation Setup and Processing

The General Ledger module allows user definition of allocation base amounts and distributions, and user initiation of allocation processing.  Actual and budget amounts for financial and statistical accounts can be distributed and used in allocation calculations.  By assigning individual allocations to allocation cycles, multiple allocation passes can be performed.  Allocations can be defined to allocate amounts from accounts of one location to accounts of the same or a different location.  Standard expense and overhead allocations can be performed, along with allocations to handle depreciation of assets, top-down allocation of budget amounts, and flexible allocation of budgets.  Allocations can be based on actual amounts, for example, advertising expenses allocated based on percent contribution to sales.  Allocations can also be based on statistical amounts, for example, allocation of utilities expenses to centers based on square footage or number of employees in each center.  Interactive allocation specification maintenance allows users to add, change, delete, mass maintain, and inquire into allocation specifications online.
