Open Item and Balance Forward Statements
Customer statements for single-currency customers can be printed in open item or balance forward format. Multiple currency customer statements are printed only in open item format. A separate statement is printed for each active currency of a multi-currency customer.
Two print options are provided for open item statements:
· Detail - Each open item for the customer, the original gross amount, and all payment applications made against the open item are listed
· Summary - Each open item for the customer is listed with the current amount due. Payment applications are not listed.
Two print options are provided for balance forward statements:
· Detail - The customer's accounts receivable balance from the previous customer statement is listed. Current period charges and payments are listed in detail. An ending customer amount due balance is also listed.
· Summary - The customer's accounts receivable balance from the previous customer statement is listed. Total amounts for current period charges and payments are listed. An ending customer amount due balance is printed.
The open item or balance forward format is defined at the customer level and the detail or summary print option is based on the level of detail option selected on the Credit Management Report Selection Criteria screen (AR300S01). Multi-currency customers automatically default to open item format.
