Accounts Receivable Trial Balance
The Accounts Receivable Trial Balance Report lists all transactions that affect the accounts receivable accounts for each company/location. The report is used to verify each company/location's accounts receivable balances in the general ledger. Only transactions with accounting dates on or before the cutoff date are listed. The cutoff date is determined by one of two methods, depending on the source of the original request for the report. If the report is requested through the AR menu's, Period-to-Date Accounting Reports, the user enters the cutoff date.
However, if the report is requested via the AR menu's End-of-Period Accounting Reports, the cutoff date is taken from the current accounting calendar Reference File record (category 013) for each company/location. When retrieving the cutoff date from the current accounting calendars, the current AR period for the company/location is found on the current accounting periods Reference File record (category 023).
A detail line is printed for each customer invoice. The amount displayed is the original amount of the invoice less any payment applied to the invoice. Corrections to the invoice that increased or decreased the original balance are also included in the printed amount. A total of the detail amounts posted to the account is also printed.
Payment amounts placed on account can also be listed on the report. On-account amounts can be listed in detail or summary form or completely excluded from the report. The trial balance print flag on the company/location options Reference File record (category 336) for each company/location controls the printing of on-account amounts.
