TDCI Provides Global MAC-PAC Operations Support for Vishay Intertechnology

Over the past year, TDCI has been providing global MAC-PAC operations support for Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (Vishay).  Vishay’s power control systems manufacturing plants, acquired from International Rectifier (IR) in 2007, are located around the world in North America, Europe, and Asia.   
As part of this outsourced application management service, TDCI provides 24 hour MAC-PAC Help Desk support 5 days a week.  TDCI provides dedicated personnel in three shifts to support all sites and time zones.  Direct system access is done via VPN connections and communications are facilitated by e-mail, mobile Blackberries, and phone.  In addition to Help Desk support, TDCI develops modifications and reports requested by the various locations.  TDCI has provided an average staffing level of 4-5 people throughout the year.

The MAC-PAC system TDCI is supporting at Vishay is a much-customized version transferred from IR when Vishay acquired the plants.  During the first few months of the contract, TDCI worked closely with IR systems personnel to study and learn the details of the customized system.  TDCI then took over primary support responsibilities after a few months.  IR personnel are no longer involved. 

Vishay is now in the process of moving these plants to their corporate SAP system.  TDCI is assisting with that project as well – primarily helping with MAC-PAC data archiving and migration.

TDCI provides MAC-PAC staffing and outsourcing services on a short-term and long-term basis.  In addition to helping with upgrade, expansion, and remediation projects, TDCI personnel can provide expert system operation services in just about any circumstance where companies need extra help – for instance, while internal people are on special projects, or as companies are in the process of filling open positions.
