Expanding BuyDesign Deployment to New Product Lines and
Adding MAC-PAC XE Configuration Capabilities |
|
Draper Inc. is expanding their use of BuyDesign to the company’s window shade product line. Draper currently uses BuyDesign for the company’s audio visual equipment product line. All Draper window shades are custom made to fit specific window sizes and applications, with many different models and fabric options, as well as either manual or motorized operation. So as part of the BuyDesign expansion, Draper will implement BuyDesign Configurator and BuyDesign Configurator for MAC-PAC XE to provide intuitive Windows-based product configuration capabilities for customer service representatives when entering orders for window shade product. Part of the reason for the move is that Draper recognizes that the familiar Windows-based point & click capabilities of BuyDesign Configurator will make it much easier to train new people while also speeding up the order entry process for people who do not already have in-depth product knowledge. Order entry personnel will have the option to use either the full BuyDesign Online sales application, MAC-PAC XE screens with BuyDesign Configurator, or MAC-PAC XE screens with Expert Configurator to enter orders. All approaches will work from a common rule set and deliver the consistent results. “Our window shade business is really growing, so we need to be able to process a much higher volume of orders,” says Draper Operations Manager, Alan Beattey. “Using BuyDesign Configurator within both the BuyDesign Online system and standard MAC-PAC XE order entry screens, we can provide our customer service representatives with a very intuitive approach to product configuration regardless of the method used for entering an order.”
