Compac Corporation ( www.compacinc.com), a leading manufacturer of vapor retarder facings and pressure sensitive adhesive tapes for the construction, industrial, automotive, and electronics industries, and a MAC-PAC user since 1994, will be one of the first companies to implement the new Insights for MAC-PAC XE advanced reporting and information retrieval solution in early 2007. Compac has licensed the sales reporting, sales analytics, financial reporting, financial analytics, and information portal capabilities of Insights. Compac will continue to use the Vizion sales datamart implemented earlier as the sales analytics component of Insights, and will also be working with TDCI toward the creation of manufacturing reporting and analytics components.
“Our MAC-PAC system has always had a wealth of information within its database, but that information has been difficult to access for reporting and analysis purposes,” states Mark Rose, Compac CFO. “Insights gives us a modern framework that makes it much, much easier to retrieve, report, and analyze MAC-PAC information.”
Before making the decision to move forward with Insights for MAC-PAC XE from TDCI, Compac considered solutions from other companies such as Cognos and Hyperion, but found that Insights would be much faster and much less expensive to implement.
“With other tools we would have needed to start from scratch in terms of mapping data and developing datamarts. With Insights for MAC-PAC XE, that is already done for us. All we need to do is tweak it for our special needs,” adds Rose.
