As another MAC-PAC XE modernization initiative, TDCI has committed to deliver an integration component that allows the BuyDesign Configurator to be executed directly from standard MAC-PAC XE order entry screens. This will enable MAC-PAC XE Expert Configurator (EC) users to replace EC with the graphical user interface of BuyDesign Configurator for all rules developers and end-users.
Current EC users will benefit greatly from a number of strategic capabilities provided by BuyDesign Configurator for MAC-PAC XE:

'One Configurator Anywhere'
- Ability to integrate a common configuration engine into any current or future application in addition to MAC-PAC XE. Applications can be on the Internet, a server, or a desktop computer; packaged software, or in-house developed.
BuyDesign Configurator for MAC-PAC XE will leverage and extend all of your existing EC rules while opening up many new opportunities for end users and rules developers. Most importantly, it will allow your company to consider new sales strategies and applications that were not possible with EC.
BuyDesign Configurator for MAC-PAC XE will be delivered in two phases. Phase I will include support for all sales and pricing rules, and Phase II will provide support for manufacturing rules. During Phase I, EC users will be able to continue to process manufacturing rules using EC.
With development sponsored in part by Atrium Companies, TDCI has committed to delivery of Phase I in Q1 of 2007, and Phase II later in 2007.
