The newest release of the MAC-PAC XE Customer
Centric Configuration (C3) solution will be available
in early January. Release 3.1 provides a number
of functional and technical enhancements, including:
- Support for multiple rules
databases in a configuration session. This
powerful capability makes C3 even more flexible
and further improves performance by allowing
rule sets to be more modular, which makes them
both easier to manage and smaller/faster. For
example, separate databases can be used for
current and future pricing rules with C3 accessing
the appropriate database depending on the order/quote
date.
- Multi-language support
within the configuration engine. Note that
the level of multi-language capability available
is also dependent on the capabilities of the
host application.
- Separation of the
C3 Enterprise Manager into two focused components:
- The C3 Design Studio
for maintenance of rules and creation
of user profiles.
- The C3 Enterprise
Manager for system configuration and
administrative tasks such as database
usage and language controls.
- The addition of a new rule
type in BOTH C3 and EC. The new Order Detail
(OD) rule can be used to control what elements
of distribution rules are printed on various
forms. E.g. color, length, etc.
- Enhanced calculation capabilities,
including the use of external operations using
ActiveX objects and the use of negative numbers.
- Numerous user interface
enhancements and customization options for
easier navigation and even more intuitive operation.
- Enhanced configuration
testing and reporting capabilities.
- Substantial performance
improvements.
