BuyDesign® Release 6.2 Delivers Enhanced Product Configurator and Guided Selling Capabilities
Latest Version of BuyDesign Software from TDCI Now Available
(September 2009) TDCI Inc. (TDCI), the leading provider of configurator-based software solutions, announced today immediate availability of release 6.2 of the company’s BuyDesign Guided Selling and Configuration software suite. BuyDesign is a comprehensive solution developed to streamline the sales process for customized products. BuyDesign helps companies that manufacture products with a wide range of features, options, and dimensions increase sales by becoming ‘easy to do business with’ while at the same time reducing order processing time, cost, and errors. This release includes broader internationalization capabilities, a new status inquiry module, and a new integration API for the Configurator, in addition to targeted enhancements in performance.
“As the size of the BuyDesign user community has grown over the past couple years, the range of deployments has expanded as well, with more industries, increasing scale, broader geographic deployment, and more usage scenarios,” said Dan DeMuth, TDCI President and COO. “We’ve prioritized these enhancements to support new and anticipated needs of that growing community. As always, our goal is to make the BuyDesign user experience fast, intuitive, and well-personalized across a broad range of applications and environments.”
Enhanced Internationalization Capabilities
Both BuyDesign Channel Sales and BuyDesign Configurator have been enhanced with improved internationalization capabilities to enable easy localization and personalization of all displayed screen text (including field labels), all numeric data (support for international punctuation conventions), and all date/time fields (support for international conventions). All screen text has been externalized for easy translation into multiple languages, including Unicode/double character languages. This enables companies to present their products in different geographies with a tailored user experience that is sensitive to location and culture. Additional input parameters for the BuyDesign Configurator provide the rule developer access to culture and locale settings such as currency code and exchange rate provided by the host system to deliver language, formatting, and pricing tailored to the application user.New Status Inquiry Module
BuyDesign has been extended to provide a new status inquiry module using data from the company’s ERP system. Status items that can be displayed include: Order status, shipment status, and invoice status. Status can be displayed for all orders, including orders entered in ways other than through BuyDesign. Status inquiry can be accessed from within BuyDesign Channel Sales or through a direct login.
