Reminder – MAC-PAC XE™ User-to-User Enhancement Sharing Now Available!
At this year’s TDCI Customer Forum, there were many ‘hallway conversations’ among MAC-PAC XE users talking about enhancements or extensions they have developed that provide their companies with great benefit – a new report or query, an innovative BPM process, a simple modification, a small subsystem to address a specific need. Just about every company in the MAC-PAC XE user community has something that would be useful to others. But, beyond bumping into each other at the annual user conference, how do companies let others know about things they are willing to share, or find out what others have done?

Well… there is an easy way to do just that. It’s called the ‘Enhancement Sharing’ section of the MAC-PAC XE web site.

Tip of the Month

Each MAC-PAC Tip of the Month is a selected Expert Reference Note (ERN) from the MAC-PAC ‘Helpful Hints' database in the MAC-PAC website. You can get the full text of this note or search the database by logging in to Support, then selecting ‘Helpful Hints' at www.tdci.com/macpac.

Q:   When manual journal entries are saved with F18 - Accept f/ Apprv, or F23 - Accept w/ Errors, and then the period they are entered for is closed, how do the entries get posted?

A:   Balanced entries accepted for approval, and entries which are accepted with errors are written to error files GL010AP1 and GL010AP2 awaiting some kind of action by an operator or supervisor. If the period that an entry belongs to is closed, the GL post program will not attempt to post the entry in the future. The entry must be cancelled using F13 Cancel/delete in the Journal Inquiry screen, and re-entered either as a prior period adjustment to the closed period, or as a manual entry to the current open period.

Entries saved using F18 and F23 appear in the F20 Search option in the Manual Journal Entry screen, and should be reviewed and corrected or cancelled prior to closing the period.
