July 2011 - Cincinnati Incorporated (CINCINNATI), a leading manufacturer of metalworking equipment and longtime MAC-PAC XE user, has gone live with TDCI’s BuyDesign Configurator embedded within MAC-PAC XE.  As a complete replacement for Expert Configurator (EC), BuyDesign Configurator is now being used to drive product configuration at order entry time, and to generate manufacturing orders for the company’s laser, press brake, shear, and powder metal press equipment lines. 

“The biggest benefit is the fact that we can now develop and maintain product models much more quickly, said Brian Turner, CINCINNATI Manager of Business Systems.  That means we can make product innovations available much faster.  Our BuyDesign product models also give us a foundation for improved product standardization – something that will have far-reaching benefits over time.” 

Roger Slack, CINCINNATI Design Engineer added: “The BuyDesign Configurator Studio is a huge advancement over the way we had to develop and test rules with EC.  It gives us a graphical point & click environment that is far more intuitive and productive. We can now incorporate product changes in much less time than what it would have taken with EC.”    

CINCINNATI is now in the process of implementing BuyDesign Channel Sales for use by sales reps to generate quotes and place orders for new machines.  The BuyDesign configuration models used within MAC-PAC XE will also provide the foundation to drive the sales quoting process within BuyDesign Channel Sales.
