BuyDesign 5.0 Demonstrated at Perspectives 2007

Launched in July, BuyDesign Release 5.0 delivers numerous functional, technical, performance, and ease-of-use enhancements driven largely by input from the growing community of BuyDesign users in the building products, equipment, machinery, and specialty vehicle markets.

Specific components and features of BuyDesign 5.0 featured at Perspectives 2007 were:

  • BuyDesign Channel Sales

    • New ‘rapid options' capabilities

    • Streamlined quote/order screen

    • User interface enhancements

    • New ‘extension hooks'

    • Expanded deployment and sales model support

  • BuyDesign Configurator

    • New manufacturing rules capabilities

    • Other new rules capabilities

    • User interface enhancements

  • BuyDesign Build-Your-Own

    • An intuitive, highly visual web application to generate end-customer interest. As an addition to your web site, it enables consumers to select your products and options and see them in a life-like setting similar to their own environment (e.g. home, office, boat, or RV).

  • BuyDesign Spec-In, AutoCAD edition

    • A downloadable application that enables you to deliver an easy to use electronic product catalog with an embedded product configurator to architects and other designers for their use directly as a plug-in to the AutoCAD design system.

  • BuyDesign Flex2D

    • A new product visualization tool that enables you to dynamically generate display images, print images, AutoCAD design blocks, and annotated sales drawings without a CAD system.

  • On-line and distributed deployment models supported by BuyDesign InTouch

    • Options for online, desktop/laptop, and workgroup deployment with a single application set and central control of all information
