Translation Procedure -- Summary

A summary of the general ITF procedures for initial translation of the software follows. See Translation Steps for a detailed explanation of these eight steps.

1    Add the ITF Library as the first library in your library list

2    On the Programmer Menu, display the Translation Menu via the following command:

      GOACM TRMENU

3    Select option 1 - ITF from the TRMENU (Translation for MAC-PAC Versions), to display the ITFMENU (Screens and Reports Translation).

4    Select option 1 - Repository Terms Generation from the ITFMENU, to display the Repository Generation command screen (TR100CMD).

5    Select the modules or member to process in order to create entries into the repository for each English term existing in the selected MAC-PAC standard sources (DSPF, PRTF, O and C specifications).

6    Select option 2 - TR100M Conversion to TR100AP from ITFMENU, to display the TR100M Conversion to TR100AP command screen (TR120CMD).

7    Submit the conversion process to retrieve existing translation from the repository TR100M Version 8.0 and format the TR100AP entries generated in step 4 and 5.

8    Select option 20 - TMITFSTAT Translation Status Report from ITFMENU, to display the TMITFSTAT Run Query screen.

9    Run the Query to print the report and evaluate the amount of terms translated and nontranslated for each module.

10   Select option 3 - Translation Entry from the ITFMENU, to display the Term Translation Command screen (TR130CMD).

11   Select the modules or member to translate in order to display the corresponding English terms and then manually translate and record all the necessary terms (without retrieved translation from step 6 and 7).  This step should be performed by experienced users who are familiar with the manufacturing, distribution, or financial terms being translated.

12   Select option 5 - Source Updates from the Repository from the ITFMENU, to display the Source Updates Command screen (TR150CMD).

13   Select the modules or member to update in order to replace English terms in the source code with the translated terms. Note that, the English term is not updated when no translation has been entered but the translated source is generated and could be manually updated afterwards

14   If the user makes an error entering a translation or wishes to change a translation, the following steps from 15 to 17 are available.

15   Select option 3 - Enter/Modify Translation for a Member from the ITFMENU, to display the Term Translation Command screen (TR130CMD).

16   Select the member(s) to translate in order to display the corresponding English terms and then manually enter the translation update.

17   Run the Source Update process (step 12 and 13) to impact the member source for which a term translation has been changed.

18   If the user adds a new field or changes the field length for a member, then step 19 and 20 must be performed in order to create a new entry into the repository for the specified member and then perform the steps from 10 to 13.

19   Select option 4 - Repository Regeneration for a Member from the ITFMENU, to display the Repository Regeneration Command screen (TR140CMD).

20   Select the member for which the term translation must be regenerated into the repository.

The following subsequent translations need to be performed in order to finalize the translation process for a specific language :

1    Select option 3  - Error File Maintenance from the TRMENU, to display the Error File Maintenance screen

2    Enter the desired translation for each manufacturing and distribution error message to be translated and record to the error message file CT120M.

3    Select option 4  - Financial Message File Translation Entry from the TRMENU, to display the Message Select screen.

4    Enter the desired translation for each financial error message to be translated and record to the financial error message file FPMSGF.

5    Select option 2 - Automatic Translation for “.” and “,” in the sources from TRMENU, to display the Automatic Translation command screen (CHGPOINTB).

6    Submit the Automatic Translation Command CHGPOINTB to replace “.” by ”,” in the sources.

7    If the installation needs to be performed for the translated sources, follow the instructions from the IMF Manual.
