Production Type

MAC-PAC supports both traditional discrete processing (using MRPII techniques) and flow-based manufacturing techniques (using just-in-time and KANBAN techniques).  Each part must be assigned to one of the two production types.  The production type is specified in the Production Type field on the Description screen of the Part Master Maintenance conversation.  Different parts at the same plant can have different production types, and the production type for a part can be changed easily.
