Default Values

 

For each product class you can define default values that will automatically apply to any new items defined within the class.  If product classes were not used, you would have to enter this information through the Design Engineering Part Master Maintenance conversation and the Inventory Control Warehouse Balance File Maintenance conversation.  The following default information can be defined for a product class.  This information can be modified for an individual part on the appropriate file maintenance screen.

·      VAT or GST code.  Maintained in IC--Warehouse Balance File.

·      Minimum gross margin.  Maintained in IC--Warehouse Balance File.

·      Maximum gross margin.  Maintained in IC--Warehouse Balance File.

·      Price code.  Maintained in IC--Warehouse Balance File.

·      Cash Discount Flag.  Maintained in IC--Warehouse Balance File.

·      Stockkeeping unit of measure.  Maintained in DE--Part Master Maintenance.

·      Selling unit of measure.  Maintained in DE--Part Master Maintenance.

·      Purchasing unit of measure--Maintained in DE--Part Master Maintenance.

·      Pricing unit of measure.  Maintained in IC--Warehouse Balance File.

Classes and their default values are defined on Reference File category 426.  Parts are assigned to product classes on the Description screen of the Part Master Maintenance conversation.
