Defining the Potency of a Lot

When you create a potency-controlled, lot-controlled part, you must define the actual potency of each lot that is created.  One way this is accomplished is through Lot Control Maintenance.  The Change Control screen (IC150S02) within this conversation allows you to record the actual potency of a purchased or manufactured part and the vendor's potency for the part (if the part is purchased).  This data is stored on the Lot Control File (IC150M).  If you do not enter the actual potency or the vendor potency, the standard potency for the part (defined in Part Master Maintenance) will default to these fields.  If you permit a lot to be created automatically through automatic lot number assignment, the standard potency for the part will default to the lot.

Refer to the screen sample below.

Thus, although the standard potency of hydrogen peroxide is 3%, the actual potency of LOT33 is 6%.
