Conversation Flow

The information you maintain on the Part Master File will depend on which MAC-PAC applications you have installed and which MAC-PAC features you wish to use; only a small portion of the fields are required for all parts.  Each of the eight sets of information is entered on a different screen.  This organization gives you several options for defining part information:

·      You can set up a part by entering all information at once.  With this option, Design Engineering displays all eight screens in sequence.

·      You can add a part by entering the first screen of descriptive information.  Default values are used for any required fields on the remaining screens.  You can then access any of the other screens directly, whenever you wish, to change the default information.

The Function Select screen for the Part Master Maintenance conversation has separate maintenance codes for each of these options.  To set up all information at once, use the maintenance code for New Part Setup.  To enter just the descriptive information, use the maintenance code for Addition.  A separate maintenance code for each of the eight types of data lets you access the relevant maintenance screen directly.
