Define Companies within the Corporation

1.   Determine a three-character code for each company.

2.   Define each company on Reference File category 002.

a.   Select the Reference File Maintenance menu option.

b.   Specify that you want to maintain category 002.

c.   Create the company record by entering only the company code in the key field; leave the remaining positions blank.

3.   Verify that the information has been entered correctly by inquiring on category 002.

Note:    If you are using MAC-PAC financial software, you will also wish to define the locations within each company for financial reporting purposes.  These locations are used for financial reporting; they are not the same as stock locations used within Design Engineering.  For more information, see the Defining the Corporate Structure key concept.
