Fixed-Time Operations

Fixed Time No Overlap
(Type 6)

These operations can be batch sensitive.

In this example, the first operation could be any type.  The second operation is Fixed Time No Overlap (type 6).  All parts from the first operation are required for setup.  For the purposes of this example, the third operation is Setup and Run Time Overlap (type 5).  Note that although it is an overlapping operation, it is scheduled similarly to operation types 1 and 6.  No overlap can be applied to a quantity or percent of parts from a fixed time operation, since all parts required the full run time for completion.

Fixed Time Setup Only Overlap
(Type 7)

These operations can be batch sensitive.

In this example, the first operation could be any nonfixed time operation.  The second operation is Fixed Time Set-up Only Overlap (type 7).  Parts from the first operation are not required for setup; however, all parts from the first operation are required before the run of the second operation can begin.  For the purposes of this example, the third operation is Run Time Overlap (type 4).  Note that although it is an overlapping operation, it is scheduled similarly to operation types 3 and 7.  No overlap can be applied to a quantity or percent of parts from a fixed time operation, because all parts require the full run time for completion.

JIT Operations
(Type 8)

These operations are discussed in the Just-In-Time Routings Key Concept.
