Just-in-Time Routings

Just-in-time production uses a daily rate for each part being produced.  This daily rate is defined on the flow authorization.  Capacity Planning schedules work for open flow authorizations and flow authorizations that have not started yet.  For open authorizations, the quantity not yet received is divided by the number of days remaining in the flow authorization interval to determine the production rate that must be achieved to meet the scheduled date.

The routing defined for a JIT part contains different information than the routing for an MRP part.  Every operation on a JIT routing is automatically assigned an operation type of 8 (JIT).  For JIT operations, there is no distinction between setup time and run time.  In addition, there are no overlap percentages.  The total labor load per piece (or batch) and machine load per piece (or batch) are defined for each operation.  An operation offset is also defined for each operation on the routing to determine when work at that operation begins.
