This screen allows you to translate literals from the base language to a secondary language. This translated information will be used in the printing of customer and vendor documents in their associated language. Literals are displayed beginning with the one you selected on the previous screen, the Literal Translation Search Detail screen (CF815S01). You cannot see literals previous to this one, only those after it alphabetically.
LITERAL TO TRANSLATE
Display only. The literal that is to be translated, is displayed in the system's base language. When the screen is initially displayed, the first literal is the one selected on the Literal Translation Search screen (CF815S01).
TRANSLATION
Optional. Enter the secondary language translation of the literal. The row of X's below the field denotes the length of the edit mask. You cannot enter a translation longer than the edit mask for any literal. If a transaction has already been entered for this literal, it appears in the field. You can type a new transaction over the existing one. If a field is blank, the literal has not been translated yet.
COMMAND KEYS
Enter - Validate the entered fields and remain on the Literal Translation Maintenance screen (CF270S02).
F3 - End the program and return to the menu without saving changes.
F10 - Return to the Function Select screen without saving changes.
F15 - Return the screen fields to their original values from the file. Any changes made since the screen was last saved will be lost.
F22 - Update the selected records and return you to the Function Select screen. Detail validation is performed and if no errors occur the records are updated to the Literal Translation File (CF270M).
