Sourcing Warehouse

The sourcing warehouse feature allows the operator to specify from which warehouse the line item will be sourced.  The default warehouse that is displayed when lines are created is the selling warehouse, which is entered on the Sales Order Maintenance Function Select screen for sales orders, and the Quote Order Maintenance Function Select screen for quote orders.

As a new line is entered, the operator has an opportunity to enter a warehouse.  If one is entered, the part being ordered must exist on the Warehouse Balance file and be sellable for that company/warehouse.  If no warehouse is entered, the Customer Primary Warehouse on the ship-to customer defaults, if this is blank or an invalid warehouse the line will be sourced from the selling warehouse.

The sourcing warehouse on a regular or blanket order line can be changed on the order line window or on the multi-line screen.

An optional security feature allows control over which users can enter transactions against a given company/warehouse.  If this option is in use and a user is not authorized to a specific sourcing warehouse, then a line on the order cannot be sourced from that company/warehouse.
