Sales Commissions

The following two types of commissions are supported:

·      Salesperson-related commissions.  Based on percentages stored on the Reference File by salesperson.

·      Part-related commissions.  Based on percentages stored on the Warehouse Balance file by part/company/warehouse.

At order entry time, salesperson and part commission percentages are stored on the Sales Order Header and Sales Order Line file records, respectively.  If a quote order was entered, these percentages are stored on the Quote Order Line file records.

Considerations

Since commission calculation methods vary from company to company, specific calculations and sales analysis reporting have not been included in the system.

Different types of commission calculations can be incorporated into the system since salesperson and part percentages are provided.  For example, commission calculations could be cumulative by adding salesperson and part commissions.  By raising and lowering part commission percentages, salespersons can be encouraged to favor high profit parts.  Commission calculations could involve quantity breaks, the territory in which the order was sold, as well as many other considerations and methods.
