Recording the Activity of a Job

The following items can be associated with a job:

·      Purchase requisition

·      Purchase order

·      Manufacturing order

·      Component requirement for an MO

·      Inventory balance

Transactions affecting these items are entered in their respective modules.  For example, Requirements Planning creates purchase requisitions and planned manufacturing orders to meet the demand placed by a customer sales order.  You create purchase orders to cover the requisitions within the Purchasing module.  You release planned manufacturing orders for the job within the Inventory Control module.  You record issues, receipts, and stock transfers within the Purchasing or Inventory Control modules.

When entering one of these transactions for a job, use the appropriate online conversations within the Purchasing or Inventory Control module.  Simply enter the job number or job group number when prompted on the transaction screens.  Refer to the Purchasing and Inventory Control User Manuals for more information.
